DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis
Painful, swollen limb, cramps and redness can be signs of DVT's and should be checked by your GP. DVT is not just caused by travelling on a plane but can also be hereditary and sometimes a definitive cause can not be ascertained.
DVT's are diagnosed using Ultrasound to see if the blood is flowing normally through the vein. Compression stockings should not be worn for treatment of a DVT until an anti-coagulant ( blood thinner) medication has been prescribed.
A prescription from a Doctor will be required for us to measure and fit you for a compression stocking which would generally be a Class 2 Compression.
